The state’s mental health report on Stephen Morgan, the man accused of fatally shooting Johanna Justin-Jinich ‘10 at Broad Street Books in 2009, has been completed. The details of the report are not expected to be made public, and prosecutors are reviewing it before the next case hearing on Oct. 13.

It is anticipated that at the upcoming hearing, Morgan and his attorneys will select whether they would like a court trial or a jury trial before a trial date is set. Morgan’s lawyers have claimed that he was mentally ill at the time of the shooting. Two physicians hired by the defense are expected to testify about Morgan’s mental health.
